Making a balloon garland is a beautiful way to decorate a highlight table, whether it's the cake or dessert table or used as a photo backdrop. We take the mystery out of me the most creative trend of the year.
Grab your Supplies
Before we get started we will need a few things. For this project how many balloons you use will totally depend on the size and layout of the garland that you desire. For this project I used about 85 balloons in total, with sizes ranging from 5 inches to 36 inch balloons. I also picked a variety of shades of pink and white. In order to give your your balloon garland some structure and interest, I recommend using between 3 to 4 different colors. In order to keep your garland from looking like a circus when using colors trying using different shades of the same colors.
How to Get Started on your Balloon Garland
1. To get started simply blow up all your balloons, I used an electric balloon blower to blow up all the balloons.
2. After all your balloons are blow. Tread your fishing line into a sewing needle, and "sew" your balloons together through the tags creating a line of balloons. Make sure when treading that you alternate your balloon colors and the sizes in order to create an organic feel.
3. Once your balloon garland is make you are ready to hang it. Simply take a large thumb tack and wrap your fishing line around it a few time, find the place where you want it to drape over your table and press your tack into the wall. Just make sure your balloons are laying flat against the wall and not pushing against your tack, this will only make your tack pull out of the wall. You can always add more tacks for a more secure structure.
4. Enjoy all your hard work!
Whether you create one for your bridal shower or for your wedding dessert table. I hope this party trend is here to stay all year.
